Writers Corner

Hello everyone, I know it’s been awhile since I have updated you all on what has been going on in my life. I figured it was time to sit down, and fill you all in!

Even though I have not been active on the website, I have been diligently learning the in’s and out’s of podcasting. My first attempts did not meet my standards, so I figured it was best to step back and do some real planning, and take a few courses from the experts. (Thank you skillshare, and Polly.)

The end result will make it’s debut October 6th, 2020. Mark your calendars!

I have decided it is time to stop feeling sorry for myself and take action. After a lot of trial an error, I have finally found a fraction of confidence in myself, and a discovered I quite like the process of producing a podcast.

This Discovery Birthed My Newest Obsession, “The Writers Corner.”

I intend to record each episode live on Twitch every Sunday @ 11 am PST. My first episode was recorded live, and I attempted to do the same with the second, but my internet was on the fritz. I ended up not being able to do so unfortunately.

On top of that minor set back, the motherboard on my desktop (the computer I have set up for gaming and streaming) has been broken due to circumstances out of my control, (i.e. an over zealous child) and I cannot get a replacement for about a month. Once I am able to get the motherboard taken care of, I will be able to continue with live recording; and you all can chat with me on Twitch while I record weekly. My goal is to build a support community for writers of all skill levels, to try to help each other reach our individual writing goals. Almost like free coaching.

If you don’t already, you can also follow me on FaceBook and Twitter @4th3Record in order to stay up to date on all the latest news, updates.

Thanks so much for sticking with me guys, y ‘all are amazing and I appreciate the continued support!

Writing a Memoir: with Lorrine Patterson The Writers Corner

Sharing your truth is a huge leap of faith.  Can you relate to facing the daily challenge of fighting depression, and the struggle of finding your voice? In today’s episode, I talk with Lorrine Patterson author of Freeing Your Heart For Love about what it takes to write a memoir, the personal struggle of facing a complicated past, and finding courage, and strength through connecting with her spirituality. Lorrine Patterson was born in Guam but never got to experience that version of island life. Her family moved to Oahu, Hawaii, when she was only a few months old, and they stayed there until Lorrine turned 12. After watching her parents divorce, she moved to California with her mother. These experiences during her formative years helped create a lasting sense of wonder combined with a curiosity for the world around her. Lorrine earned her BS in Business Management and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. She has worked in the hotel industry, property management, and facilities management and specializes in customer service. Passionate about all she does, Lorrine stewed over the idea of writing a book for the better part of a decade. It wasn’t until the realities of pandemic life in 2020 took hold that she decided it was finally time to put pen to paper. Lorrine finally discovered her true passion and purpose in life through the suffering and troubling times, bringing some goodness to a world in need. Her first book, Freeing Your Heart For Love, is a memoir. Lorrine is a simple woman who believes everything happens for a reason. Even if we aren’t meant to understand the reason right away. Armed with this theory, she approaches each new day with contagious enthusiasm. When she is not nestled into her favorite couch writing, Lorrine enjoys spending quality time with her family. She met the love of her life in 2017 and has never been happier. She loves quiet days at the beach and listening to her three grandchildren splash and play with the innocence only youth provides.
